Abby is a small, young Terrier mix with a gentle and loving nature. She was rescued together with her puppies from a home where she was used for breeding. Because of her difficult past, Abby was very frightened when she first arrived and found it hard to trust people.

Over time, however, Abby has slowly come out of her shell. While she still has a lot to learn about life as a cherished family dog, her true personality is beginning to shine. We have discovered that she loves to play, enjoys affection, and is happiest when she is receiving cuddles from the people she trusts.

Abby is looking for a patient and caring home that will continue to help her build confidence and show her how wonderful life can be.

Bramble is a lovely young Terrier mix who is under one year old. As he is still very much a puppy, he has a lot to learn about the world and what it means to be a family dog. However, we have every confidence that he will grow into a wonderful companion, thanks to his kind and gentle nature.

Bramble has a great character and enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs. He currently shares his kennel with Peanut, and the two love playing together. Watching them have fun and enjoy each other’s company is a great reminder of Bramble’s friendly and social personality.

Javi came to Paws because his owner sadly became seriously ill and could no longer care for him.

He is fourteen years old and full of more life and joy than you’d expect from a senior dog. Anyone who meets Javi falls for him. He’s endlessly friendly, gets along easily with other dogs, doesn’t mind cats at all, and adapts to just about anyone. Simply easygoing, through and through.

These days, Javi moves a little stiffly, so long walks aren’t his thing anymore. What he needs is a quiet home, a comfy bed, and short strolls at his own pace. In return, he offers warm, easy companionship.

Noah is an adorable, playful young Podenco.

After a little rest and recuperation when he first arrived at the shelter, Noah has recently been loving going for walks in the woods near to the Paws shelter. And the feedback from our volunteers makes it clear that Noah is an absolutely wonderful walking companion (even if for the moment he can still be a little nervious of passing runners or mountain bikes)! He also gets along well with other dogs, but his behaviour around cats is currently unknown.

Noah is such a sweet little boy, and we are sure that if you come and see him, you will fall in love!

Pete was handed into the municipal dog pound, before being picked up by Paws. This lovely boy is a 9 year old Setter-Beagle cross who absolutely loves people!! He currently lives happily with a female dog, but unfortunately he is not so good with cats - he always wants to chase them!

An ideal home for Pete would perhaps be with an older couple with a safe garden where he could wander - as he is a little arthritic, he no longer needs long walkies!

Spirit is a young, energetic boy with a social nature. He was previously adopted and even traveled by camper to Belgium, but sadly had to return to Paws Xaló due to his owner becoming ill. Spirit has lots of energy, enjoys being active, and walks well on a leash. While he currently struggles with other dogs, his overall social character suggests he may be able to adapt with time, guidance, and training.

Woody is a very special dog who quickly wins hearts with his gentle and affectionate nature. He walks well on a leash, enjoys his daily walks, and loves spending time with other dogs. Woody is curious, social, and truly enjoys life.

Some caution is advised around children, as there have reportedly been a few issues in the past. For this reason, we are looking for a home that takes this into account and treats him with patience and understanding.
