Paws Success Story: Pedro
This is the first in a series of articles focussing on the lives of our wonderful shelter dogs, after they have left us to take up their golden dog beds.
Today is the turn of Pedro, who is loving his new life in the Netherlands!
Pedro is a terrier cross who spent time in the Paws Xaló shelter in 2025. He was less than a year old and absolutely full of energy, which meant that he could get a little bored at times in the kennel environment. However it was always clear that he was a wonderful dog who would thrive in a loving home.
And has that ever turned out to be true! Let’s hear from Pedro’s new family:
“We had been looking for a nice dog for quite some time, but couldn’t find a match at animal shelters in the Netherlands.
We have a holiday home in Lliber and kept seeing very sweet dogs pop up on the Paws Xaló website. One visit to Paws Xaló was enough for Pedro to pick us out. Love at first sight on both sides.
He’s our first dog, and we got great support from Natasja, who knew Pedro well and could tell us a lot about him.
Pedro is an energetic and sweet dog. He loves long walks. In the Netherlands we live close to the sea, beach, and forest, so we can go in any direction. Just like us, he’s happy whenever we arrive at our home in Lliber. As long as he’s with us, everything’s fine.”
