Exciting news: New Shelter Kennels Almost Ready!
Today, 1 February 2026, we at Paws Xaló are very excited to announce that our five new kennels should be ready for use in just a few short weeks! This will double the number of permanent kennels at the Paws Xaló Shelter to 10, plus an additional isolation kennel.
As you may know, the past 18 months have been very challenging at Paws Xaló, with the huge number of dogs we have needed to rescue. However we are very proud to have successfully homed a record number of dogs and puppies.
To support this, we have been managing at the shelter through the use of additional temporary pens, which is not ideal, especially during the winter months.
With the completion of these new kennels it will be wonderful to give all our dogs a warm, comfortable home.
Sponsor a Kennel Opportunity
Two of these new kennels have been funded by the Xaló Ayuntament, for which we are very thankful. We are paying for the other three - from the proceeds from our charity shop, from our fundraising events and through your generous donations.
In the past we have been asked if people can sponsor a dog. We should be delighted to accept sponsorship but, as we hope most of our dogs get adopted in a timely fashion, we would like to offer sponsorship of a kennel instead:
This can be an individual sponsorship, a group or family sponsorship.
This could even be a gift to someone for a birthday, Christmas or celebration - what a special gift to receive!
We invite a minimum donation of 50 euros per year as sponsorship of a kennel.
You can sponsor annually or on an ongoing basis.
We will acknowledge your generosity with a certificate of sponsorship.
We will be naming all the kennels after Paws dogs, past and present.
We are immensely grateful for the wonderful support we receive from all our Paws supporters. With your continued support we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned dogs in the area! Thank you so much from Team Paws and all the doggies.
